Asian Experience Presentation- Join us for the culmination of our Asian Experience workshops. View the arts and crafts created during the three month series and try your hand at origami. Sample Asian food and music as you enjoy a special performance by Lin Li of the Peking Opera. This is an event not to be missed. May 5th 6PM-9PM. A Maestro’s Memoirs – Don Pippin will preview his one man show that will be the highlight entertainment at our Fall Fundraiser. Reservations required. Tickets $10. Saturday, May 19th 7:30-9:00PM. Philip Jensen-Carter Art Show- “Music in Motion”. Enjoy this eclectic art and music at the studio. Friday, May 11 and 18th 7PM-9PM and Saturday, May 12 and 19th 10AM-2PM Bryan Shea Art Show- Spend a few minutes on your holiday weekend enjoying the work of this wonderful artist. Contact Joan Crawford for more information, 279-3457 Saturday Scribes at the Studio- Meet and hear our featured authors and share your own poetry, fiction, and acoustic music in a monthly series in the Village of Brewster. Van Hartmann teaches literature and film studies at Manhattanville College, in Purchase, New York. His poetry has appeared in Confluence, Confrontation, Inkwell, Red Wheelbarrow Magazine, WinningWriters, Pennsylvania English, Phi Kappa Phi Forum, Snake Nation, Texas Review, and The Worcester Review. His is the author of the poetry collections Between What Is and What Is Not and Shiva Dancing. Open mic signups begin at 7 p.m. with readings beginning at 7:15.
